The Passions Behind the People

Each month we will be sharing the passions behind the people in the DMC Network. This month the spotlight is on Valerie Summers, VP and Queen of Everything for Destination Musick City, our DMC Affiliate partner in Nashville, TN.

The memory...  I had one, but then I forgot it. Shoot.

The hobby... It once was crochet, but then I suffered a terrible crochet injury and I couldn’t go back into training. Now it’s travel.

The time of day... Supper.  (That’s how we say dinner in the south.)

The vice... Online shopping. Seriously. It’s time for an intervention. But I think Amazon should have to pay for it since they started it. I wonder if they have a Prime Rehab option? Recovery in 2 days!

The virtue... I am loyal. Sometimes to a fault.

The colour... Because you spelled this in the British spelling (with a U), it makes me want to reply with something really English – like Collywabbles Teal.

The friend… My hubby, Kip.  We got engaged 2 weeks after we met and have been together for 28 years now. Of course, we met when I was 5...

The exercise…

The pet… COOPER. My 150 St. Bernard who sheds as much as 5 Pomeranians each day.

The smell… We own a winery and I love the yeasty smell when the wine is fermenting.  Close the doors and take a big whiff!

The book… Where the Red Fern Grows

The piece of advice… Stay on your side of the street.

The joke… People always tell me I’m condescending. (That means talking down to people).

The alternate job... I’d like to have a travel TV show where someone pays me to go around the world tasting wine, staying in nice hotels, trying new foods.  You wouldn’t even have to pay me!

The song… Someone to Watch Over Me – Ella Fitzgerald

The taste… A nice crisp, dry Fume Blanc.
