But there’s no shortage of things to do for those travelers who want a little more action! We’ve prepared a taster itinerary showcasing some of the best offerings with just two days in this beautiful destination...
Thursday 12pm: Warm Welcome
As your plane lands, you will be greeted by some of the most gorgeous beaches in the Caribbean. Cool down on arrival with our tailored airport meet and greet, including refreshing towels, iced cold bottled water and a selection of local fruits, such as guavas, mangos and bananas. Thursday 1pm: Outdoor Living
Once you’ve reached your hotel, NIZUC Resort and Spa, your bags will be taken to your room so that you can make a beeline straight for the beach. Sample one of our most famous cocktails, the Tequila Sunrise, while your personal butler gets you a book by your favorite author, or an iPad for you to browse, all while you relax in your lounge chair overlooking the Caribbean Sea. They will even take and clean your sunglasses for you, so there is literally nothing left for you to do but relax and get acquainted with your surroundings, this is your chance to unplug
Thursday 2pm: Easy Breezy Beautiful
Take a short walk from the beach to Café de la Playa for lunch, then back to the beach for an afternoon of snorkeling, swimming and jet skiing, or take some time in the first ESPA branded Spa in the Mexican Caribbean. ESPA has created a fusion of advanced European therapies with the layering of ancient Mayan healing rituals exclusively for NIZUC Spa by ESPA. Each ritual begins with an organic tea ceremony and foot ritual with a consultation. These therapies are customized to each individual guest by our expertly trained therapists. ESPA has created a selection of Mayan healing rituals exclusively for NIZUC for you to enjoy. Each ritual begins with an organic tea ceremony and foot ritual, followed by a detailed consultation to fit your particular needs.
Thursday 6pm: Outdoor Cocktails
Enjoy a pre-dinner cocktail at the Bar-A-Kan, overlooking the ocean. The specialty here is a ‘Tequila Sunrise’ – a refreshing mix of Tequila, orange juice and grenadine.
Thursday 7pm: Food Lovers Paradise
Take a 15 minute drive to Tempo, an award-winning restaurant by the renowned Chef Martin Berasategui. The tasting menu is definitely worth trying here with dishes such as Red Tuna Tartar seasoned with kimchi sauce, citric ponzu pearls and snow ice, and melon pearls in caipirina, citrus ice cream and cold yoghurt soup with pink pepper. The waiters are truly knowledgeable and will guide you through this exciting journey of unusual flavors and tastes, assisting with wine pairing recommendations and aperitifs as the night goes on.
Friday 9am: Cultural Immersion
You can’t visit this part of Mexico without visiting one of the Wonders of the World! Chichen Itza is a two-hour drive inland, but well worth the effort – private transfers, bottled water and a delicious lunch on site will be waiting for you on arrival. Chichen Itza is one of Mexico’s most popular tourist destinations, and deservedly so. The heritage site is made up of soaring pyramids, massive temples, impressively carved columns and an ancient sports field. The focal point of these ruins is the towering Castillo pyramid. It’s four sides contain 365 steps depicting the solar year. Inside there is a temple that can be accessed through a narrow stairway.
Friday 2pm: Local Gastronomy
Lunch will be in Oxuton Mayan fusion and offers guests a uniquely local dining experience including dishes using ancient spices and flavors, all made by native chefs. Enjoy a fresh food smoothie or local beer to round this cultural excursion off nicely.
Friday 5pm: Fresh Flavors
Return to the hotel to dine at one of the 5 restaurants located on property. Our favorite is La Punta Grill, the perfect spot to indulge in fresh seafood and perfectly grilled steak in a casual atmosphere.
Friday 9pm: Night on the Town
After dinner, you will be ready to experience some of the hottest nightlife in town! Coco Bongo’s, just 25 minutes away, is a huge nightclub venue with a mix of 80’s, 90’s and Latin Music. Get your groove on at the main dance floor or head up to one of the numerous balconies to get a bird’s eye view of some of the shows performed. Acrobatic shows, such as Cirque du Soleil, and imitators such as Lady GaGa and Michael Jackson, are par for the course, while confetti and balloons are dropped as soon as the dancing starts, bringing lots of color and party-like ambiance. At Coco Bongo the party never ends!
Saturday 9am: Deep Sea exploration
We have arranged for you to visit MUSA, the Underwater Museum of Art that was located in the waters surrounding Cancun, Isla Mujeres and Nizuc. There are many ways to experience this site, depending on how late you were out the night before! Take a tour on a glass bottom boat, or for the more adventurous you can go snorkelling as you explore around 500 statues and the life they bred along the coral reefs. The perfect balance of art and nature.
Saturday 12pm: Fond Farewell
After this experience, its unfortunately time to head back to the airport, but it’s only a short good-bye for now, until the next time!
