Nadi Shodhana - Technique 1

By Karen Brar, Founder of Nourished Union

For some of us, working from home may be a big adjustment. For others, working from home may not be new but maybe now you are sharing limited home office space with a partner or balancing work with taking care of the needs of housebound kids.

Whatever your particular situation, the past number of months have likely involved a lot of reacting, pivoting  and simply trying to make it through the day.  But it’s never been more important than in these uncertain times to take care of ourselves, so we can – in turn – take care of each other.

This month Karen Brar from Nourished Union walks us through Technique 1 of Nadi Shodhana'.  In Sanskrit Nadi means 'channel' and Shodhana means 'purification' so the purpose of this technique is to purify and cleanse the physical and spiritual channels...

A Dog Is For Life, Not Just For CoVid

By Chris Baker, Director of Global Sales, DMC Network

Growing up, we always had family dogs – black Labrador retrievers, the most affectionate and fun breed. The tradition continued with my brother, who now has three black labs in his family that his children adore. Friends also started introducing dogs into their lives, and I could see how much their lives were enhanced. I love animal interaction and knew I always wanted to get my own dog, however I always felt my lifestyle didn’t quite work – I travel a lot and wasn’t sure I had the right time to dedicate for those important first 6 months of bonding and training, so the years went by, and while I continued to toy with the idea, the time never felt quite right, and it simply never happened...

Wellness in a time of Extreme Change

By Dan Tavrytzky, Managing Director of the DMC Network

When we talk about wellbeing, it’s often in relation to making time to do the things that we love, and exposing ourselves to new experiences, and we all know that, in the world we are living in now, it is more important than ever before to continue to prioritise this part of our lives.  CoVid19 has changed not only the current face of the meetings, events and incentives industry, but the very core of how we operate in our personal lives day-to-day...

Going Vegan, Staying Vegan… and Staying Sane

By Aideen O’Keeffe, Marketing Assistant at SoolNua

My meat free journey began at the age of 12 when I became vegetarian. For my 21st birthday, I decided to challenge myself and adopt a vegan diet and lifestyle. Shift from Busy to Intentional

By Karen Brar, Founder of Nourished Union

Move from the endless busy of life, to a more focused and energized way of living.

Morning alarm goes off, press snooze (1-5 times), or better yet, you wake with one of the kids poking your face until you open your eyes…  Whatever it is, it feels like you barely slept, and here comes another day.  Full of meetings, endless to-dos, business lunches, kids soccer game or school play (or both), while planning a weekend away with friends...

By Julia Trejo, Director of Business Development at Terramar, a DMC Network Company

I have been traveling non-stop for quite a number of years now, the majority of it being for work, which I love!  Working in the hospitality industry has given me a lot of satisfaction, although I do feel at times that I have neglected healthier habits. About a year and a half ago I learned that I had a medication condition that meant I had to modify many of these ‘less healthy’ behaviours, and I have truly found that my wellbeing has approved dramatically.

Below I have shared some of the key practices that I am now benefiting from...
