DMC / 30th Anniversary
By The CE Group, a DMC Network Company
In the 30th year of business for The CE Group, Inc., our DMC team started off 2020 with some incredible experiences. Within a span of just 9 weeks, The CE DMC team oversaw 55 programs for 10 clients, entertained 2,633 visitors to San Antonio, cultivated 14 entertainment experiences, sourced 29 live animals and facilitated 263 river barge rides. What an incredible way to kick off the new year and this milestone anniversary!
“The way our small and mighty team came together to service these programs was a testament to our strength as a collective effort. To start the year off we implemented traditional DMC services like offsite events and airport transfers. We also curated unique, outside-the-box services like an all-encompassing armadillo race championship and a round-up of 20 adoptable puppies at the convention center. Our team pushed the creative boundaries resulting in a great start to the year and our favorite thing, smiling clients,” said Amanda Tutor, Project Manager at CE Group.
As soon as this 9-week stretch of exhilaration and excitement was over, the world began to react and observe stay at home orders due to the rapidly spreading COVID-19. In this 30th anniversary, CE Group initially wanted to use this celebratory year to give back to the city that has given so much to us. By launching the Champions of CElebration initiative, our goal was to do just that. The heart behind the 30th year has always been to celebrate others and champion their cause.
In light of this new world we are living in, we have adapted the initiative to Champions of ResilienCE. CE Group is committed to continue giving back to our favorite city, San Antonio, by using any methods at our disposal. In the last few weeks, our team at CE Group has developed initiatives to celebrate graduating seniors and highlight local small businesses. We also just launched a centralized calendar with the San Antonio Business Journal to serve as a communication conduit between the nonprofits business community when scheduling events, and we know this is vital now more than ever as everyone looks to reschedule postponed events.
We are now looking to be a resourCE, provide guidanCE, and spread hope during this time. Through providing resources for graduating seniors or spotlighting local vendor partners, nothing will derail our desire to give back to this incredible city!
We believe in the resilienCE of San Antonio and the incredible people that call it home. As we reminisce on the amazing events from earlier this year in our bustling city, our hope is that we will be back to providing unforgettable experiences for our clients in the near future.
We would love to share some of our favorite features and why we believe San Antonio is a one-of-a-kind destination!
What’s the best way to describe San Antonio? One word: culture. Our city fully embodies this word through the strong roots in Hispanic and Texan culture and history, the authentic (and incredible) food, the architecture, and the unique “big small town” warmth that the locals provide.
We are very proud of our two UNESCO designations as a City of Creative Gastronomy and World Heritage Site. Both are major aspects highlighted in site visits and group activities. We have had a front row seat to these incredible additions to our cities history partly thanks to our location at the Historic Pearl, a mixed use dining and shopping complex, also home to the Culinary Institute of America.
Being steps away from the rolling Texas Hill Country, visitors can enjoy a quiet retreat at one of the beautiful resorts. Visitors can also venture right into the middle of downtown where easy access to the convention center, river walk and Alamodome are all just within blocks of each other.
We are surrounded by so much quiet beauty, and have much to offer in the city and surrounding areas. San Antonio can serve as a retreat to nature or a hub for cultivating business with the diverse meeting spaces and unique history in the center of the city. The dynamic Historic Pearl has been booming for 10 years now, conveniently the same amount of time our CE Group offices have been located at this stunning mixed use retail and dining outdoor playground for locals and visitors alike.
In just the last decade, our CE DMC team has been a part of our city’s major events that will go down in history. The celebration for the expansion of the River Walk (once 3 miles now 15), the World Heritage grand reveal, and the exciting NCAA Final Four in 2018. We are proud to have these experiences under our belt as they continue to teach us more about what our city is capable of, and also grow our creative and operational skills.
San Antonio is home, it is community, it is culture, it is so much more than we can describe in a blog post. When the time is right we look forward to sharing our beautiful city with you!
